1980s, Quebec. Her name is Hélène, but she goes by Jo because she wants to be like Joséphine the Little Musketeer, her favorite cartoon heroine. Jo is only ten years old, with three sisters, a father who's very busy being unhappy, and a mother who's understanding but strict. She lives in a working-class neighborhood full of colorful characters, the most endearing of whom is her new neighbor, Mr. Roger - a gruff old man with a tender heart. With her romantic soul and imagination hungry for grand dramas, Jo dreams of accomplishing great feats. One day, she gives herself a mission: to save her father from work and unhappiness.
