New monthly event at Cinéma Moderne: the Queer Cinema Club of Montreal (or QCCMTL for short): a vibrant celebration of queer stories and voices in cinema to create a space where all are welcomed and celebrated. For each edition, a new and exclusive poster will be created.

Poster design: Antoine Proulx

This 1961 film, starring the absolute legends Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine, delves into themes of love, shame, and societal prejudice. It's a poignant exploration of the devastating impact of false accusations in a repressive society. An important film in queer cinema history that highlights for a modern audience the evolution of societal attitudes towards queer characters and relationships in film, the lingering effects of stigma and discrimination, and ultimately underscores the importance of visibility and the ongoing fight for acceptance and equality. But most of all, it's PURE DRAMA, MAMA!
